Things I miss: Ketchup

I discovered in my prolonged stupor that my body no longer can tolerate ketchup. Ketchup hits me with two attacks. The tomato, which triggers my histamine intolerance and the vinegar that inflames my body via a sulfite intolerance. For hours and days after consuming ketchup, I would suffer with joint inflammation, migraines, gerd, acid reflux and seemingly untreatable asthma. I would use my rescue inhaler only for wheezing and shortness of breath to come back moments later. Ketchup, or more correctly, how my body responds to ketchup, makes me feel terrible.

Previously I was a big connoisseur of fast food. I was a fan of Jack In The Box and their wide adventurous menu. My friends, when we could physically do minor insignificant stuff with each other would request buttermilk ranch or honey mustard to go a long with their curl fries. I was a traditionalist, I only needed ketchup. The combination of the sweet and savory, the tangy with the crisp and soft potato fry, to me it was perfection.

My favorite use of ketchup is as a side to the Sausage McMuffin with Egg. I would dip the sandwich in the little pool of ketchup I made from the packet. Get just a bit, in the bite mark I started, and devour. There is just something about the circular formed over hard egg, sausage, ketchup, and bread to economize the taste, that I can't put words to on how it's so delicious, how my distant memory can make it taste so good.

I don't know how long it will be until I'll be able to eat ketchup. It's been almost two years since I started having these long covid symptoms, and tomatoes, nightshades, vinegar still trigger me. I miss ketchup, there is no substitute for it.

My bodies current reaction to fabric softener, a hopefully minor setback

Forgetting to breathe. Sounds dumb but that is what I am going through right now. There is some involuntary system disfunction going on. When I try to sleep, I'll gasp for air or twitch really hard, waking me up. My allergies are acting too strong, been this way for over a year now, my body is trying to kill itself over a foreign invader.

I used a fabric soften sheet for a load I washed Monday. I wore a tee shirt from the wash Tuesday. On Tuesday, i experienced what i felt like a mini relapse. I had GERD symptoms. My heart rate seemed higher then normal. I had joint pain and issues throughout my body. I had odd concentration issues and late afternoon fatigue. Then I had an itching fit. Just an hour ago, I woke up with another itching fit.

My clothes smelled, i wanted to make them smell better. So I added a dryer sheet. I forgot why didn't use them. I previously speculated that they made me itch before. I threw one in, now here I am. I was trying to find the allergic culprit, was it the oat milk? That is a new food i am consuming. I have been eating leftovers, they are said to have high histamine. I forgot about fabric softener.

Hopefully this will pass quicker then usual. I was, up until now, doing terrific. I was actually able to do physical work again, i was going to take time off to work around the house. There have been days were I was able to say i am at full strength.

Set backs, i am too familiar with them.

Low bp

Can't sleep. I sorta feel normal, but i can't sleep. When I try, my body just jolts suddenly and i wake up. It's been like this for three or four days now. I have been testing my blood pressure and it is lower than normal. Just now I tested it at 109/60. When I was healthy before the pandemic, I actually had elevated blood pressure, around 130-140 over 80-90. I kinda have some gerd/acid right now, i took a pepcid. Still didn't help.

I have been reading on what could cause this: heart failure, i hope not, everything else seems fine, I was chopping wood a few days ago and had a good sweat.

B12 deficiency, maybe, I was taking a b12 supplement a couple months ago but stopped when I ran out. I shouldn't need it, i'm not vegan, eat plenty of meat.

Maybe I have a intestinal worm, leaching my nutrients, i saw a youtube video on this a while back, and the worm took all of the ladies B12. My stomach has been growling more often then usual and I have been unexpected losing weight for a while.

Maybe I have a H Pylori infection, that also causes Gerd. I keep, running into that when reading the Gerd webpages. My girlfriend probably gave me it.

Yeah, I have a girlfriend.

June haiku

The Last day of June
Must write before I forget
Can't leave you hanging

I am almost there. Staying away from night shade produce (potatoes, tomato, eggplant, peppers).

Black and white photo of fruit

When passion subsides
Bright colors fade down the drain
Tasting faint sweetness

Have you ever had this feeling?

Today my brain wasn't working 100%. Maybe around 85%? But for sure not 100%. I was stumbling on normal tasks, like spelling and typing.

This might be a mild form of that brain fog I had a while back now. I haven't felt that in a long time.

But, all in all, i do feel betterer. I wish I could exercise, still might not be ready for that yet.

Dream of stuff

I was on a school field trip at an unfamiliar mall. It was at night. For what ever reason there were amateur photographers running around. Its good to know that the pandemic hasn't infected my dreams. I was walking around went up an escalator and found an arcade. I saw what I thought was a ticket redemption game that I liked, the baseball one were you rolled a quarter down the field and you get tickets based on were your quarter fell. This wasn't that game. This was a very intricate japanese baseball game with touch screens. You use the touch screen to make the pitcher do impossible curves and sliders. Use would also hit with the touchscreen by gliding your finger into across for speed and accuracy, kinda like the trackball on golden tee games. The game also had a card slot to save your progress.

I wish I could make this game a tablets. It has got to be done in some variation though. Some baseball game dev out there must have thought when they picked up a tablet, "this will make a unique way to play a baseball game"
