Styles change

Yesterday I drop off some jeans to be altered. The alteration was not needed to change the fit. It was done to change the style. The jeans were relatively expensive but in a style that I did not like anymore. The alteration will change them from a bootcut leg to a straight leg.

For me the reason for this was that bootcut jeans became too showy. And for to be everyday jeans they needed to be less flamboyant. I think this idea was developed from me seeing guidos become more and more popular. Their staple club wear is an Ed hardy/affliction/polo shirt and bootcut jeans. Seeing them on TV and how they acted caused me to be disgusted with everything about that subculture. I did not want to come close to anywhere near that look and more importantly I didn't want anyone to think that I was trying to look like that*.

(and thus I sheepishly gravitated toward a slim clothed 'hipster esque' look)

But there is a part of me that regrets the change. They were expensive jeans and they should be a bit more showy then my others. I think they're still perfectly fine for going out wear were you should you a bit better (more fancy.. haha) than you regularly do. Bootcut jeans are not out of style per say and they won't ever be really.

*I am being honest. While I think I look good all the time, if I get the suspicion that a person is thinking that I doing something not because I want to do it, I will reframe from doing it. This my friend** is being self-conscious.

**You may or may not really be my friend. I don't know. The phrase was used more to bring to a conculsion of a statement or definition.
