I left my work bag in the locker room last week

I realized it when i popped my truck open. It wasn't there. It took me ten seconds to realize where i left it. And so i drove back. It's a pleasant 25 mile drive each way, no traffic. I found it where i left it. Took it back and went on my way.

Could i learn from the experience? The cause of the error is one that is hard to avoid. There was about three minutes between leaving the locker room and entering my car that i could have fixed the issue. In those three minutes i didn't realize the lightness of the carry load. I don't actively think about my work bag. Just as i don't actively think about if i have pants on, i just have to assume that i do. Because it's one less thing on my mind.
