AOTW: Two Way Monologue

Album of the week: Two Way Monologue

2004, the year can be summarized by one thing, Sondre Lerche created Two Way Monologue.

It is now spring, and this is the perfect spring album. The time when some biological chemical sends hormonal messages to our brains telling us to find someone and on an primitive level reproduce with them.

This album will encourage your pursuit to find that someone if you do not have that person already. Beware, after listening to this album your perception of love and your desperation may be dramatically increased.

The album has the feel of the idealized movie love. A movie when the two characters at first, hate each other, then realize what the audience knew all along, that there perfect for each other. In fact, many of lerche's songs have been used in these types of movies such as 'Dan in real life' in which Lerche did the entire soundtrack.

The songs on the album are terrific. They all fit together in a single package. Take my word for it, I don't feel like proving this as fact.

One particular lyrics that I find interesting is from a song I don't remember the name of right now. It goes: 'you were the choice of millions
I was the choice of billions'. Mr. Lerche is from Norway. English is his second language. Now my skills of interpretation aren't strong, but is his saying that he had chose her from millions of other girl while he was the choice of billions of other men. So she did not go through as much competition as he, she might have a problem with that if she thinks too much of it. I think I would want to be a choice of one, as in their is no other real choice to make, but that's just me.

I especially like the work Sondre Lerche because he sings with in a vocal range I can imitate and I can sing his songs, but I have yet to find a karaoke machine that features his songs, but privately.

All in all this is the summary paragraph. It is a great cd, pick it. Listen to his other albums too, he has a great modern vocal jazz album which uses elements of his pop work, it is great for lounging around at Starbucks, setting the mood for a night of flirtation. Unlike other decisions and non decisions in your life, you won't regret it.
