To recap:
Tapping rubber trees
Will cause my insides to smell
Lightning just hit me.
Now what do you think it meant?
...
...
The first line: Tapping rubber trees
Natives of the amazon do this as some of them farm rubber, but I think I must read this line as it is, without context I can not go any further.
The second line: Will cause my insides to smell
Rubber has a smell, a good one or bad one depends on your opinion. Spoken in first person, tapping a rubber tree causes my insides to smell. I may or may not be native, so do I think I am morally wrong to take their resources away from them or to take it away from earth?
The third line: Lightning just hit me.
This could the be consequence that fallows, as do something that I feel is morally wrong. Or in some sense it could be an epiphany that has struck the writer.
This haiku has no single particular meaning as with many things in life, the beholder defines its true definition.
